2. Think About Why You Are Together
A relationship might be suffocated by problems. If you’re constantly arguing, it’s possible that the happiness you previously had may fade. One way to save a struggling relationship is to reconsider why you started dating in the first place. Consider this: What draw you to your partner in the first place? What do you admire about your partner? What has made him/her so special to you? Reassessing why you come together reminds you of why you should stay together, which enhances your already-solid foundation. Inquire about your partner’s favorite and least favorite aspects of you, and be open to suggestions.
3. Take Responsibility for Your Fault
Playing the blame game will not save any relationship. Rather than fighting over who has made a mistake, be mature and try to calm down in case you say anything you may regret. If you are the one to blame for the sour relationship, you should take the responsibility and work to repair the relationship.
4. Learn to Forgive
To heal a problematic relationship, one piece of advice is to learn forgiveness. That is not to imply that everyone and every act deserves forgiveness; you must make that decision for yourself. You’ve probably both done things in the past that have wounded the other person, but if you want to maintain the relationship, you must learn to forgive your spouse. If you do choose to forgive, keep in mind that it does not place you in a better position than the other person.
